Hello Pre-K Families!
Welcome to Pre-K at Line Elementary School! My name is Ms. Brown and I am excited to welcome you and your family to my Pre-K classroom! We are going to have a wonderful year as we learn and grow and get ready for Kindergarten! Our ed tech in the classroom is Mrs. Fedrizzi, though some of our children call her Mrs. F!
Whether your child is entering school for the first time or coming from a childcare program, we know this is a time of transition for you and your family and we are here to help you through the process! Over the next year, your child will develop the skills needed for building friendships and fostering positive peer-to-peer relationships. This will also be a year of incredible academic growth! Through hands-on learning activities inspired by their interests and our learning goals, your child will develop the skills for a successful transition to Kindergarten and the foundation needed for future learning. We will focus on building strong foundations for literacy and math: learning letters and letter sounds, using new vocabulary words, reading quality children's literature, exploring counting and sorting, and learning how to ask questions about our world. We will also explore science concepts by exploring our world, learn about the world in our culture and social studies, use a variety of materials in creating art, and work to develop the strong fine motor skills needed for being strong writers in Kindergarten!
In Pre-K, we also get to do Specials: Music, Library, Gym, and Art! Our specials will be a 4-week rotation; one week we will have Music, one week will be Library, one week will be Gym, and one week will be Art. Then the rotation will begin again. Please be sure your child wears sneakers during our Gym week. How lucky we are to be part of the wonderful learning community at Line Elementary School!
I am so happy to welcome you to Line Elementary where you will soon discover the incredible students, staff, administration, and community we have here! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns! I can be reached anytime by email at [email protected] or we can set up a time for a conference to answer any of your questions!
See you soon!
Warmly,
Ms. Brown
